JEWELRY CARE AND CHOICE
JEWELRY SELECTION
Almost all jewelry on the site is available in three material variants:
– 925 Silver
– Gold-plated 925 Silver
– Bronze
The choice between these materials is not only aesthetic but can also depend on how your skin reacts to contact with metals.
For example, some skin types – especially those with a more acidic pH or prone to abundant sweating – can promote the oxidation of bronze, causing temporary stains on earlobes, fingers, or neck.
If you have had similar experiences, I recommend opting for 925 silver or its gold-plated variant.
In my jewelry, the silver is left natural (not rhodium-plated) but is always hand-polished. This means that, over time, it may oxidize slightly: this is a natural characteristic of the metal, not a defect.
The same applies to bronze: both materials are alive and react to the environment in which they are worn, and this is precisely what makes them unique.
CARE AND PRESERVATION
These are not "battle-ready" pieces of jewelry, but handmade creations conceived as small wearable works of art. With a little care, they can accompany you for a long time.
– Avoid prolonged contact with water, perfumes, creams, and detergents.
– Store jewelry in a dry place, perhaps in a small box or single pouch, to protect them from humidity and scratches.
– Keep them away from heat sources and direct light (when not wearing them).
– Use a soft cloth to gently polish them from time to time.
Oxidation is a natural process. If you notice your jewelry is slightly changing color, don't worry: it's part of its evolution.
Below you will find some useful tips for cleaning silver and bronze, simply and safely:
Silver Cleaning
•Quick method:
Mix baking soda with a little water to form a paste. Gently rub the jewelry with a soft cloth, rinse with lukewarm water, and dry thoroughly.
•For more intense oxidation:
Submerge the jewelry in a glass with lukewarm water, aluminum foil, and baking soda. The reaction starts when a pungent odor is detected. Leave it until it's clean, rinse, and dry well.
Alternatively, you can buy specific silver cleaning products like: ARGENTIL
Silver can darken over time, but don't worry: this is a natural characteristic. When you want to revive its brilliance, follow the advice above and it will be as good as new!
Specific Storage Tips
•Store jewelry in a cloth bag or a sealed plastic pouch to reduce contact with air and slow down oxidation.
•Avoid contact with perfumes, creams, chlorine, and harsh chemicals.
•Remove SILVER jewelry if you frequent spas/thermal baths as the sulfur in the water will turn your jewelry black. If this happens, follow the cleaning tips.
Gold-plated Silver Cleaning
Bronze Cleaning
•Quick method:
Mix lemon juice with a pinch of salt, gently rub the jewelry with a soft cloth, rinse with lukewarm water, and dry well.
•For more intense oxidation:
Prepare a paste with white vinegar and baking soda, apply it to the dark areas, rub gently, and rinse.
Oxidation is a natural reaction of the metal upon contact with air; if you wish to slow it down, apply a thin layer of natural beeswax after cleaning: your bronze will remain shiny for longer!
